5/4 Website Reflection

I used Wix.com to create my website, It was very easy and user friendly. I had a lot of fun creating the website. It was one of my favorite projects of the year. The free version had a lot of options and customization. I was able to create my website just how I wanted to without being stopped because of using the free version. I would use this tool to create a website again.

I have never created a website before. just based on looking over the two websites Id choose Wix. I Chose to use Wix because it looks very user friendly. Also it seems to give a lot of customization on it which is good. You can pick a template and customize it however you want.

I use apps all the time in my everyday life. I pretty much have one for everything I need from games to sports to educational purposes, etc. Apps are how we get a lot of information in today's world. If apps didn't exist then our life would be much different. Electronics wouldn't have as much purpose if they didn't exist.

I thought the project was fun. I was able to share an app I think is cool and useful. Also I learned a lot about other apps from others presentation. some other apps i enjoyed learning about and thinking about downloading is Duolingo. Also I enjoyed learning about hopper.

4/12 Online Forms/Surveys

I have never used google to make a form. I have no idea how to or what it is. I have pretty much no experience with using survey generating software. I've never had a need to create a survey. Therefore  have never used any survey generating software. I think it will be cool to learn how to use the software and create surveys

4/3/2017 My Weekend

Over the weekend My step brother came in town from Michigan. On Friday I had practice and he came in late that night. I ended up sleeping in until 1:30pm Saturday, then we went out to eat at Burnt Ends. After that me and my step brother went bowling and to shoot pool. Sunday me and my step brother went to Dave and Busters which was fun. After that we came home to eat and went on a walk until it started raining.

Blog Post 3/31: NCAA Reflection

I learned how to use google sheets. I've never used it and hardly used excel so a lot of it was new to me but i picked it up well and was able to do it all. I had a Bracket before we did this project and based my bracket off my previous one. It ended up not working well because UCLA, who i had winning the championship, lost in the sweet 16. I watched whatever game was on in the first two rounds and since the sweet 16 I've been watching every game. I learned how to use formulas in google sheets.

Whenever I have free time I usually sit down and watch my favorite show The Office. If you have never heard of it the office is a showed about the everyday life in the office of paper company Dunder Mifflin. It is filmed like a documentary. The show has some big name actors like Steve Carell, Ed Helms, and Craig Robinson. You might feel this show is stupid and boring at first but as you watch more and get to know the characters more you'll start to love it. At first I hated it but as i watched it more it started to grow on me and now it is my favorite show. I've watched the whole 9 seasons through about 5 times on Netflix. Another Show I like to watch is the walking dead. The Walking dead is a very popular series on AMC. It is about the zombie Apocalypse and focuses on a group of people who are fighting to survive it. The show has been airing for several years now and has grown to be one of the most popular shows on television.

3/21 Spring Break

On my spring break I went back to Maryland to see my family and friends. I flew into Maryland on Saturday night. Sunday I went bowling with my dad and my sister. That evening my sister and I went to a nice dinner with my grandparents and uncle. That night I stayed over my friend tarrances house and spent the whole day over there on Monday. Monday evening I went to Texas Road house with some friends from my old school. Tuesday we got 10 inches of snow so we didn't do anything. Wednesday My sister, dad and I went to Dave and Busters before taking me to the airport to come back to Kansas. Friday, Saturday and Monday I had baseball practice.

Self driving cars are close. What if i told you they were so close it has already started. Google has created their own self driving car and is ready to hit the road. Advances in sensor technology and machine learning capability has made this all possible. The ability for the machine to gather and learn information means self driving cars will be a regular sight in a few year. Other companies have also discovered this technology. Tesla already has self driving cars on the road today. This emerging technology can make a huge difference in our society. It will eliminate the danger of drunk, high, and drowsy driving. It will also allow people to use their cell phones safely in the car and eliminate distractions at the wheel.

3/02/17 Infographic Peer Feedback

Thomas w- Thomas's info graphic was very good. It shows he put time and effort into his work. Also his information is easy to see and quick to understand. The only thing i would change is the amount of words used.


Lauren S: Lauren's info graphic was very good! she had a lot of good information as well as making it easy to understand. She used the least amount of words possible which is good. Also lauren was creative with her design making the info graphic appealing to the eye.


Cole C: Cole's info graphic was very good. He had a lot of good information on it. Also it was very creative. A little to much use of words but besides that a very good infographic.


Jack H: Jack had a very good info graphic. He was efficient on getting his info down without using words. Also he had a lot of info that I was able to learn a lot from.


Brendan B: Brendan' info graphic was very creative. His design went well with his topic. I think his he used too many words in his info and i also think it was a little disorganized.

I only used 2 different sites and were very happy with both. i used picmonkey.com and befunky.com. both were very user friendly and let you edit and save pictures. although i liked befunky better. although both were good i found befunky a little bit easier to navigate. also I thought you could do more on befunky than you could on picmonkey.

Amazon makes its first drone delivery in the U.K.

Don't want to wait days if not weeks for your delivery to arrive? Well Amazon is fixing this problem with starting to use drones to to deliver packages. This article explains how amazon is planning on getting the package to your house in less than 30 minutes from the second you click order. Amazon has only tried this new technology of delivering packages a couples times in the UK. Unfortunately It is not yet legal for Amazon to do this in the US but should be able to in the future. This Technology isn't being used only by Amazon, a number of countries are using it. Anywhere from delivering pizza to transporting medical supplies all around the world. This New technology creates an easy and efficient way to make deliveries to peoples home. The only con About this Technology is it will take away jobs of Delivery people.

2/9 - Kids These Days

Kids these day are so lazy. All they do is sit around on their butts in front of a television or phones, neither of which I know how to work. They're gonna go blind. If they were to become paralyzed they wouldn't even know it because they don't move as it is. Back in my day we didn't have any of these fancy devices. We actually went outside and saw the world with our own eyes. Not through a screen. They expect everything to be handed to them in life which doesn't work. You have to work to become successful in life.

2/27/17 - Infographic Reflection

I knew nothing about infographics so I learned that they are a good, fun way to present something. Infographics are not supposed to have many words on them that way people wont have to read a lot. Its more showing charts and pictures that take the place of the words you would usually use. i liked creating my own. It taught me a new way to present something that wasn't all that hard. I would use an infographic when i am arguing two topics with a lot of data. I am using piktochart for my infographic. It is very user friendly and i would use it again.

An infographic is a visual image such as a chart or diagram used to represent information or data. Info graphics are used for a couple reasons. They are used to eliminate the use of words. Used to help get the information to the audience. They are more interesting a fun than reading the information in a paragraph. The best type of information to be displayed by an infographic would be comparing and contrasting two different things. Infographics help convey the message to the audience because they are fun and creative. Also they are able to get the message across without using words or as many words making it easier and more fun to view. If you need to display data either by itself or comparing it to another set of data infographics could be a good way to display it in a classroom. infographics are a fun and easy way to get a good information across about something. 2/16 "My Dream Business"

My Dream Business would be to own a high end restaurant in either San Diego, California because that is dream place to live or in Baltimore, Maryland because that is where I am from. I would call my restaurant "bet" because this term back in maryland means something is good and well I want people to know my restaurant is good, also it sounds good. My Restaurant would be a steakhouse since steak is my favorite food. It would be fairly expensive but you would get your moneys worth.

2/13/17 my weekend

On Friday Night My Sister drove all the way up from Tallahassee, Florida where she attends college at Florida State. She only told my step dad and kept it a secret from my mom and I so we were very surprised when she showed up at our front door. This was her first time here in Kansas since we moved so she had never seen the house or around overland park. On Saturday we showed her around the neighborhood and drove around to show her our new home. Also on Saturday our whole family switched to from Verizon to sprint so we got all new phones. On Sunday morning I had a baseball tryout with Mac n Seitz. This was my second tryout with them. I made the team but they were already strong in my positions so i wasn't going to get much playing time. Later that day i also had another tryout with Danny Jackson Elite baseball which i also made. This team is just as good but I will get more playing time because they aren't as strong in the positions i play. I chose to play with the Danny Jackson Elite team where I felt it was a better fit for me and where i can get better and exposed more than i can over at Mac n Seitz. Sunday night was my sisters last night here so we all watched a movie as a family. My sister left to go back to college this morning.

2/2/2017 Pictures

 when I went to Chicago for a baseball tournament the team and I all went to a Chicago cubs game against the mets. 

"The Mud Bowl" is a flag football tournament played in mud in freezing temperatures. It was games of 5v5 and there had to be at least one female on the field at all times.

This is a picture of me in Florida holding and kissing a alligator right before my tour of the everglades. I went to visit my grandparents last year in Naples Florida and they took me on the tour

This is a picture of me playing baseball, which is my favorite sport. This was at sports at the beach tournament back in Ocean City Maryland.

1/31/17 Words for Teenagers

I agree with some things that John Tapene said. I agree with him when he says " In other words grow up, stop being a cry baby, get out of your dream world and develop a backbone not a wishbone." Too many kids today expect everything to be handed to them in life and its starting to get to the point where nothing will ever be done because all people want to do today is have fun, not make a difference and have responsibilities. And i am a victim of this. I like to have fun a lot more than I like to have responsibilities and sometimes because of this i put of my responsibilities to have fun instead. But i feel that everyone should be allowed to have fun after taking care of our responsibilities because what is the point of living if you cant enjoy life.

2/6 "Collaborating Remotely" Reflection

In my experience on this project it was rather easy working with my partner without face to face communication. We were easily able to pick a topic and start working on on project. I think it would not be too difficult to do a professional project like this on a regular basis because with the technology we have you don't need to be with your partner to be able to work together on the project.
